Say It In BloomFor valentine’s day

A Valentine that opens on the fourteenth.

Write it whenever you like; it opens on the morning of 14 February, unless you choose another day. The flower opens a little further with each note of their name.

Its flowers

The occasion’s own come first at the desk; any of the eighteen can be sent, alone or as a posy of up to seven. Each grows from the words of its letter, so no two are alike.

Its paper

Printed on ivory as a hand-coloured engraving, the whole plate comes to life as it opens, pollen drifting in the light. Or choose Prussian blue: a cyanotype, where only the flower returns to colour.

Its music

Pieces written for the book. As the flower opens, the music pauses and a soft piano plays their name, a note for each letter.

Its day

It opens on Valentine’s Day itself, at eight in the morning in their time zone, unless you choose another day. It reaches them by email, or as a link and QR code you send yourself. Until it reaches them you can change its day, or cancel it and have your money back.

Writing it

Sign it, or don’t: the letter can end with your name, or only with your voice.
